Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stock In-Charge to manage inventory, control stock, and oversee warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient stock handling, minimize discrepancies, and maintain accurate records to support smooth business operations.

Scope and Purpose

The Stock In-Charge will be responsible for overseeing inventory and stock operations within the store. This includes ensuring accurate stock levels, optimal product availability, coordinating with teams, implementing stock control procedures, and maintaining accurate transaction records.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Management

  • Maintain optimal product availability while avoiding stockouts and overstocking.
  • Review sales patterns and forecasts to determine replenishment needs.
  • Monitor sales floor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment.

Receiving and Inspection

  • Receive, inspect, and verify quality and quantity of incoming stock.
  • Check for damages, discrepancies, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Report discrepancies immediately.

Allocation and Distribution

  • Allocate and distribute stock to appropriate store areas.
  • Maintain organized, accessible product displays and storage.

Stock Control and Reporting

  • Implement cycle counting and regular stock checks.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
  • Generate reports on stock levels, movements, slow-moving, and excess stock.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize stock management and minimize costs.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with floor attendants, branch managers, and warehouse teams.
  • Share stock-related information effectively to ensure smooth operations.

Security and Loss Prevention

  • Implement and enforce stock security measures.
  • Train branch staff on proper handling and loss prevention.

Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to regulations, safety standards, and company policies on stock management and storage.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years’ experience as Stock In-Charge, Storekeeper, or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and stock control systems.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software or ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or related field.
